RESULTS
GALLOWAY, NJ --- Rowan University captured the 2025 NJAC Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Stockton, scoring 41 points behind individual champion Gabriella Pagano and a strong pack of five scorers all finishing in the top 14.
Pagano, a senior, dominated the 6,000-meter race with a winning time of 21:56.4. She led a balanced Rowan attack that saw Shannon Stakelbeck place fourth (22:57.7), Jezena Aponte finish 10th (23:24.3), freshman Juliana Sieminski take 12th (23:27.3), and Allyson Wernik round out the scoring in 14th (23:32.0). The Profs' top five runners crossed the line within a tight 1:35.6 spread.
TCNJ finished as runners-up with 46 points, led by Naesha Gadie's third-place finish in 22:45.7. The Lions showed impressive depth with four runners in the top 15. Teagan Walker (7th, 23:20.4) and Ella Daly (8th, 23:20.7) finished nearly stride-for-stride, while Ava Biemuller (13th, 23:30.3) and Savannah Hodgens (15th, 23:35.9) completed TCNJ's scoring. Their five scorers finished within just 50.2 seconds of each other.
Host Stockton took third place with 67 points. Senior Kayla Kass led the Ospreys with a sixth-place finish (23:11.7), followed by Madelyn Valasek in ninth (23:22.2) and Rachel Hayes in 11th (23:26.9). Evelyn Austin placed 16th (23:41.8) and Madison Pratt was 25th (24:48.8).
Ramapo finished fourth with 85 points, paced by Dale Leonard's runner-up performance of 22:21.2. The Roadrunners' scoring was rounded out by Zoe Gregory (17th, 23:57.9), Kiera Gregory (21st, 24:23.6), Brooke Meberg (22nd, 24:26.7), and Jasmin Silva-Vargas (23rd, 24:41.7).
Montclair State placed fifth with 133 points. Senior Abigail Churchill was the Red Hawks' top finisher in fifth place (22:58.1), while Liliana Snyder (30th, 25:22.4), Cecile Bernard (31st, 25:23.9), Jordan Bohrer (33rd, 25:34.8), and Odalys Guerrero (34th, 25:41.7) completed their scoring.
Kean took sixth place with 200 points, led by Sarah Knoetig in 37th (26:04.0). Rutgers-Camden finished seventh with 220 points, with Dejia Robert leading the way in 32nd place (25:28.2). Rutgers-Newark placed eighth with 236 points, paced by Angelyna Rodriguez's 38th-place finish (26:57.1). NJCU junior Reyanna Henderson led a group of four Gothic Knights with a 72nd-place finish in 30:43.3.
