PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its football weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 26.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CONNOR BARRY • Christopher Newport University
Junior • Quarterback • Vienna, VA/James Madison
Barry is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time after he orchestrated a dominant offensive performance in Christopher Newport's 52-7 road victory at William Paterson. The junior completed 17 of 18 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns while adding three more scores on the ground (18 rushing yards). Barry, who has led the nation in pass efficiency the last four weeks, connected on his final 12 passes before leaving in the third quarter. He set a new single-season school record with 26 touchdown passes against just one interception and surpassed 2,000 passing yards for the year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JAMESON SESSA • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Defensive End • Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell
Sessa becomes the third different Lion this year to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after he dominated in the trenches during TCNJ's 24-7 road victory at Kean on Saturday. The senior tallied six tackles, three tackles for loss totaling five yards, one sack for two yards, and two quarterback hurries. Sessa's disruptive performance helped limit Kean to just seven points and pushed him over 20 career tackles for loss.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ROGER RUBINETTI • Montclair State University
Senior • Kicker/Punter • Morris Plains, NJ/Parsippany Hills
Rubinetti picks up his second NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor after he delivered another well-rounded performance in Montclair State's 48-20 road win at Vermont State-Castleton. The senior converted all six extra-point attempts, punted three times for 117 yards (39.0 average) with two punts pinned inside the 20-yard line, and handled kickoff duties with eight boots for 391 yards (48.9 average).
OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOSH PEGUERO • Vermont State University-Castleton
Freshman • Wide Receiver • Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley
Peguero, now a two-time NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week, led the Spartans' receiving corps with six catches for 107 yards and one touchdown in Castleton's contest against Montclair State. His 34-yard touchdown reception highlighted the performance, and the freshman also contributed on special teams with three kick returns for 51 yards.
DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JAEDEN EVERETT • Rowan University
Freshman • Defensive Back • Millville, NJ/Millville
Everett becomes the second Prof to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. He made one of the game's top plays with an 11-yard interception return for a touchdown in Rowan's hard-fought 31-28 battle against fourth-ranked Salisbury. The freshman also contributed two tackles in his defensive touchdown performance against one of the nation's top teams.
