PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 26.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOHNNY TROIANO • Rowan University
Senior • Forward • Hazlet, NJ/St. John Vianney
Troiano picks up his second and Rowan’s third NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after he powered the Profs to a perfect 2-0 week with three goals in conference play. The senior scored the opening goal and eventual game-winner in a 2-0 road victory at Kean before netting two more in a 4-1 triumph at Ramapo, including the first goal and the third on a penalty kick. Troiano's 16 goals on the season match his career high set last year, and he leads the NJAC in both overall and conference-only goals and points.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KYLE BIRMINGHAM • Stockton University
Senior • Goalkeeper • Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive
Birmingham earns his first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after he posted back-to-back shutouts during Stockton's 1-0-1 week, extending his scoreless streak to 272 minutes. The senior made 10 saves across 180 minutes, recording a perfect 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average. He was especially sharp in a 0-0 draw against Montclair State, turning aside seven shots including a crucial diving save in the 70th minute.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MATT WILL • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Forward • Collingswood, NJ/Moorestown Friends School
Will collects his second and TCNJ’s fifth NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after he continued his hot stretch with two goals during the Lions’ 1-0-1 week. The freshman netted the opening goal in the Lions' 1-1 draw with NJCU before scoring the game-winner in a 2-0 victory against William Paterson that clinched TCNJ's spot in the NJAC playoffs for the first time since 2021. Will’s five goals and 11 points in conference play rank third in the NJAC while his game-winning goals in NJAC play (3) lead the conference.
