Rowan's Pennington, TCNJ's Evaldi, Kean's Wilson Earn NJAC Women's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Jan. 26.
 

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
ELLA PENNINGTON • Rowan University
Junior • Elkton, MD/Elkton
 
Pennington is named NJAC Swimmer of the Week honor for the seventh time this season after delivering standout performances in Rowan’s tri-meet against #10 Swarthmore and Kean. She won the 200 back by well over two seconds (2:04.75) and placed second in the 100 back (56.46). Both times are among the top three in the NJAC this season, with her 200 back time second only to her own season best from earlier this year. Both of her individual times from this past weekend are also among the top 40 in NCAA Division III.
 

DIVER OF THE WEEK
BETH EVALDI • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Ewing, NJ/Hun School of Princeton
 
Evaldi collects her fourth NJAC Diver of the Week honor. She dominated the diving events on Saturday, winning both the 6-dive (177.60) and 11-dive (245.85) competitions on the 1-meter board. Evaldi currently owns the NJAC’s top 1-meter 11-dive score and second-highest 1-meter 6-dive score.
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRAELYN WILSON • Kean University
Freshman • Mont Vernon, NH/The Academy for Science and Design
 
Wilson is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. She impressed in Kean’s tri-meet, capturing first in the 100 back (56.36) and second in the 200 back (2:07.08). Wilson also contributed to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:47.36) and competed in the 200 free relay (1:39.88). Her 100 back time is the second-fastest in the NJAC this season and ranks 23rd in NCAA Division III, while her 200 back time is the third-fastest in the conference this year.
