PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 3.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
ELLA PENNINGTON • Rowan University
Junior • Elkton, MD/Elkton
Pennington has earned NJAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Nov. 3, marking her second consecutive award. In Rowan’s meet against Salisbury, she posted the fastest NJAC time this year in the 100-yard butterfly (57.49) while also winning the 100-yard backstroke (58.28), and 200-yard backstroke (2:10.07). Her time in the 100 fly ranks 14th in NCAA Division III, while she also currently owns national top-10 times in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Pennington also contributed to the Profs’ win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.90.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
ERIN SOMMERS • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Blackwood, NJ/Triton Regional
Sommers collects her first NJAC Diver of the Week honor. Competing at NYU, she achieved her first career regional cut on the 3-meter board, scoring an impressive 416.25 over 11 dives.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MADDIE KRYSZON • University of Mary Washington
Freshman • Midlothian, VA/James River
Kryszon is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the first time this season. At a dual meet against Franklin & Marshall, she claimed first place in both the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:55.74 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.02. Both times are the fastest in the NJAC this season and rank among the top 50 nationally.
