PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 17.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
ELLA PENNINGTON • Rowan University
Junior • Elkton, MD/Elkton
Pennington is named NJAC Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season. She claimed first place in three events during Rowan's victory over Montclair State, winning the 100 back (58.02), 200 back (2:07.29), and 100 fly (58.00). Pennington also contributed to a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:51.01). She currently owns the fastest times in the NJAC in the 200 back and 100 fly and the second-fastest in the 100 back.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
LILYANNA MARTIN • Rowan University
Freshman • Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan
Martin is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17. The freshman had an outstanding performance in Rowan's win over Montclair State, capturing victories in the 200 fly (2:10.22) and 500 free (5:19.95). Both of those mark the fastest times by an NJAC swimmer so far this season, and her 200 fly time is in the top 40 in NCAA Division III. She also placed second in the 200 free (1:59.57).
