PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its football weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 17.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JORDIN LENNON • Christopher Newport University
Sophomore • Running Back • Yorktown, VA/York
Lennon is named the final NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the 2024 season, marking his second honor in the last three weeks. He rushed for 234 yards on 15 carries with four touchdowns in a 70-31 season finale victory over TCNJ. His touchdowns included runs of 50, 6, 7, and 64 yards, giving him an average of 15.6 yards per carry. This performance marked the fifth-highest single-game rushing total in Captains’ program history.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ELI SHERFIELD • Christopher Newport University
Junior • Defensive Back • Woodbridge, VA/King George
Sherfield collects the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the final week of 2024. He wrapped up the season with a huge defensive performance, intercepting three passes, returning them for a total of 69 yards, and recording a tackle and a pass breakup in a dominant 70-31 win over TCNJ. His three interceptions brought his season total to five.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DANNY WONG • Kean University
Senior • Cornerback • Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht
Wong has earned the final NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor for 2024. He picked up a blocked punt and returned it for a touchdown in Kean’s season finale against Salisbury. The 24-yard return marked the first touchdown of Wong’s career.

SYRUS MCGOWAN • Salisbury University
Freshman • Quarterback • Chestertown, MD
McGowan claims the final NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week award of the season after contributing 180 total yards and three touchdowns in a 58-28 win over Kean. The freshman scored on a 50-yard run, a 9-yard run, and a 37-yard pass, helping Salisbury complete their undefeated season. McGowan also wrapped up the regular season as a five-time-defending NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week, and now heads to NCAA play where the Sea Gulls enjoy a first round bye.

AJ RYKER • Rowan University
Sophomore • Defensive Back • Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton
Ryker picks up the final NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week for 2024, his second weekly award of the year. He delivered eight tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception during a 45-0 shutout victory over William Paterson, helping the Profs hold their opponents to just 92 total yards.
