PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its football weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 4.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MICHAEL ZARFATI • Rowan University
Junior • Wide Receiver • Middle Township, NJ / Middle Township
Zarfati has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after posting career highs of 190 receiving yards and three touchdowns in just one half of play in Rowan's win over Vermont State-Castleton. The junior averaged an efficient 31.7 yards per catch on six receptions, with a long of 73. He scored all three of his touchdowns before halftime as the Profs set a school record for points in a game. Zarfati has posted more than 100 receiving yards and a touchdown in five straight games.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KAM BROWN • Rowan University
Junior • Defensive Back • Sicklerville, NJ / Winslow Township
Brown claims NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after a record-setting performance in Rowan's win over Vermont State-Castleton. The junior transfer tied the program's single-game record with three interceptions. He returned two of them for touchdowns – a school record for pick-sixes – and finished with 110 interception return yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MIKE FIRETTO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Kicker • Old Bridge, NJ / Old Bridge
Firetto earns his first and Montclair State’s second NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor after accounting for 10 points in the Red Hawks’ 42-14 conference-opening win over Kean. The freshman went 2-for-2 on field goals, connecting from 20 yards and from 48 yards as the first half ended. He was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points and averaged 52.6 yards on seven kickoffs.

SAM DECH • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Running Back • Phillipsburg, NJ / Phillipsburg
Dech has been selected as NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week for the second time this year after rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries against No. 13 Salisbury. The freshman opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, helping TCNJ take a lead into halftime against the nationally ranked Sea Gulls. He added a four-yard reception. Dech ranks second in the NJAC in both rushing yards (343) and rushing touchdowns (5).

JUSTUS PEYTON • Rowan University
Freshman • Linebacker • Mays Landing, NJ / Cedar Creek
Peyton garners NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week after recording two tackles, both for loss, in Rowan's win over Vermont State-Castleton in which the Profs set a school record for points in a shutout win. The freshman's two tackles for loss totaled seven yards and included a six-yard sack.
