PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 27.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
ELLA PENNINGTON • Rowan University
Junior • Elkton, MD/Elkton
Pennington collects her first NJAC Swimmer of the Week honor of the season. Competing against nationally third-ranked NYU, Pennington secured two first-place finishes with times of 57.73 in the 100 backstroke and 2:05.58 in the 200 backstroke. Her 200 back time ranks eighth nationally in NCAA Division III, and her 100 back time is ninth. Both mark the fastest time by an NJAC swimmer so far this season in the respective events. Additionally, Pennington was part of Rowan's 400-yard freestyle relay which clocked in at 3:45.84.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRAELYN WILSON • Kean University
Freshman • Mont Vernon, NH/The Academy for Science and Design
Wilson is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks as she led Kean to three wins to push the Cougars to 5-0 overall. In a 163-99 dual meet win over Stevens, Wilson set a school record in the 50 backstroke with a time of 24.73, which currently ranks second in the NJAC. She also won the 100 fly, touching at 58.87, placing her fourth in the conference rankings. She was also part of Kean’s winning 200 medley relay team that combined for a 1:49.17 and currently ranks 14
th nationally. In a tri-meet with New Paltz (W, 207-53) and Union (W, 184-70), she again won the 50 free (25.09) and posted a win in the 200 back (2:12.63). She also helped the Cougars to a win in the 200 free relay (25.68).
