Rowan's Guinan, MSU's Pickul and Eichlin Earn NJAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

PITMAN, NJ --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its field hockey weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 18.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRIDGET GUINAN • Rowan University
Senior • Midfield • Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts

Guinan becomes the second Prof is as many weeks to earn NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. She totaled three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the #2-ranked Profs as they improved their record to 6-0. After registering an assist in Rowan’s 5-0 win at Stevens on Wednesday, the senior co-captain recorded the fourth hat trick of her career, and her 15th multiple-goal game in the 7-1 victory over Haverford on Saturday. Guinan is currently ranked third in the NJAC in goals (5) and points (12) this year.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LAUREN PICKUL • Montclair State University
Senior • Goaltender • Audubon, NJ/Moorestown

Pickul collects her first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after notching two shutouts across three wins for the Red Hawks last week. She allowed just one goal and stopped 14 shots in 180 minutes of action. She stopped six in a shutout of No. 20 Vassar and followed up with a five-save effort in a 3-1 win over Muhlenberg. Pickul wrapped up the weekend with three stops in a 3-0 blanking of RPI. With the two shutouts, Pickul is now tied for the NJAC lead. She also sports a .804 save percentage, third among conference goalies.


ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SADIE EICHLIN • Montclair State University
Freshman • Midfield/Defense • Pittstown, NJ/Voorhees

Eichlin is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the first time after anchoring a Red Hawk defensive unit that allowed just one goal across three games in a 3-0 week. Eichlin and the Red Hawks shut out No. 20 Vassar, limiting the opponent to just six shots on goal. She also helped limit RPI to just three total shots in a 3-0 blanking. The Red Hawks also defeated Muhlenberg 3-1. Eichlin has started all seven games so far in her rookie season and has a defensive save.
