PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's tennis weekly honors for the week ending March 20.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ELIZA CLAMOR • New Jersey City University
Junior • Auckland, New Zealand/Rangitoto College
Clamor is named NJAC Player of the Week for the first time this season after picking up wins at both singles and doubles against a Division I opponent. At No. 2 singles, she defeated Lauren Manwiller of Loyola (MD) 6-7, 6-4, 12-10. She also teamed up with Brittany Waugh at third doubles, defeating Loyola duo Abby Decker and Genevieve Wurtz by a score of 6-2. Clamor is 2-2 in singles play so far in 2021-22.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KYLIE BRUA • Kean University
Sophomore • Mundelein, IL/Mundelein
Brua earns her first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor as Kean opened the spring portion of the schedule with a 9-0 win over Penn State-Abington. Brua, a two-sport athlete who plays on the Kean volleyball team in the fall, got off to a strong start to her first spring season of tennis with a 6-1, 6-2 win over PSU-Abington’s Michelle Ly at top flight singles. She also teamed up with Samantha Paine Luu at first doubles, as they defeated the PSU-A pair of Ly and Tina Sadzaglishvili 8-1.
