Class of 2020 Spotlight: Rutgers-Camden Softball

The New Jersey Athletic Conference honors the seniors across all of our spring sports who had their seasons painfully cut short by the global pandemic, but whose dedication, perseverance, and passion for their sport, their academics, and their institution over the last four years was nothing short of admirable. Thank You Seniors, and congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2020!

MARISSA BEEBE

"Marissa Beebe transferred into our program last season and has been a pillar for us ever since. On the field, she adds huge power to our lineup as well as being a solid and reliable first baseman. Off the field, she is the ultimate leader. She leads from her heart and also by example. She is the teammate and leader that every program needs and I couldn't be more proud of her for how she has embraced this role in such a short period of time. Marissa is also an excellent student with an impressive academic résumé. She is graduating with a degree in Childhood Studies and has chosen to further her journey toward becoming a middle school math teacher by starting her graduate program at Rutgers-Camden this fall."

RACHEL EDWARDS

"Rachel Edwards has been a major name for the Rutgers-Camden program for all four years of her collegiate career. Her softball IQ and overall athleticism have both been key factors for us over the years and what makes her one of the most talented players I've ever had the privilege to coach. Rachel has played a different position every season for the last three years in an effort to give our team the very best outcome at that time - though I know it wasn't easy on her, she always made it look like it was and she always did it well. She is selfless in every sense of the word and she is the player and teammate that coaches hope for."
