PITMAN --- Behind a 15-3 league record this year, The College of New Jersey won the regular season title and earned the top seed and first-round bye in the NJAC Women's Basketball Championship. Rowan finished 13-5 to lock up the number two seed and other first-round bye.
Montclair State (12-6) and Rutgers-Newark (10-8) finished third and fourth, and will each host first round games on Saturday. The Red Hawks will host sixth seeded Kean (9-9) at 1 or 3 PM, and the Scarlet Raiders host fifth seeded Rutgers-Camden (10-8) at the Golden Dome at 7:00 PM.
The Newark/Camden winner will advance to Wednesday's semifinal round at top seeded TCNJ at 7:00 PM. The other semifinal will pit the winner of the MSU/Kean game and two-seed Rowan in Glassboro, also at 7:00 PM.
The winners of the semifinal round will meet in the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 23, with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
