LA CROSSE, WI — The NJAC put five individuals and two relay teams into Saturday's finals on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, while also collecting six Second Team All-America honors across the men's and women's programs.
WOMEN
Stockton's Emma Petrolia was the lone women's finalist from the conference, advancing out of the 400 hurdles prelims with a time of 1:01.41. She will return to the track Saturday at 4:15 PM.
Teammate Elaina Styer sits fourth through four events in the heptathlon with 3,061 points, with competition in the multi continuing Friday.
TCNJ's Lucia Garcia-Beltran and Montclair State's McKay Alby each earned Second Team All-America honors in the 200, finishing 13th (24.55) and 15th (24.70) overall, respectively.
MEN
Rowan's Eli Hendricks, Rajahn Dixon and Evan Corcoran all advanced to Saturday's 200 final, finishing second (20.99), third (21.06) and fifth (21.25) in the preliminary, respectively. Corcoran opened with a win in Heat 1 and Dixon won Heat 2, while Hendricks finished second in Heat 3 for a strong showing for the Profs in the event. The trio returns at 4:50 PM on Saturday. Rowan's Samuel Agbessi also advanced to the 400 hurdles final with an eighth-place prelim clocking of 52.62, set to race Saturday at 4:25 PM.
Both Rowan and TCNJ advanced their 4x400 relay squads to Saturday's final. Rowan's team of Marquis Taylor, Samuel Agbessi, Teddy Wilson and Dallas Hohney ran 3:11.35 for seventh in the prelim, while TCNJ's Noah Traverso, Nathaniel Adams, Lebron Rose and Maxim Rychkov posted a 3:11.76 for ninth. Both teams compete at 6:00 PM.
Stockton's Ahmad Fogg led a contingent of five NJAC long jumpers, with Fogg (9th, 7.20m) and Rowan's Christopher Ross (10th, 7.18m) earning Second Team All-America honors. Rowan's Bright John (17th, 7.04m), Anthony Parker (18th, 6.97m) and Damarion Potts (21st, 6.87m) also competed.
In the 400 hurdles, Rowan's Jason Agyemang (11th, 53.40) and TCNJ's Nathaniel Adams (12th, 53.42) earned Second Team All-America honors. Ramapo's Matthew Suero placed 18th (55.21) and Rowan's Angel Gonzalez finished 19th (55.30).
TCNJ's Brandon Chen rounded out the first day of competition with a 30:29.75 in the 10K, finishing 19th overall.
