#5 Rowan Moves on to Regional Final with 18-7 Win over Southern Maine; Bogart, Suriani and Davis Lead the Way

GORHAM, ME - Joey Bogart drove in four runs, Damon Suriani had four hits and Brayden Davis hit his first career grand slam as #5 Rowan defeated host Southern Maine, 18-7, in the 2026 NCAA Division III Baseball Regional. The Profs now advance to the regional championship on Monday morning at 11:00 AM, where they will again face Southern Maine after USM won an elimination game on Sunday evening.

Rowan (34-5) needs to win just one game to advance to next weekend's NCAA  Super Regional (May 22-23) for the fourth time in the last five years.

Suriani was 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI, Bogart went 3-for-4 and scored three runs and Davis was 3-for-6 with two runs and five RBI as the Profs reached their total with only
three extra-base hits.

Austin Kreyenhagen (7-1) went 5.0 innings, striking out seven, allowing five runs and seven hits to earn the win. Jack Norton tossed two scoreless innings and posted a strikeout with Ben Schild striking out two batters in one inning and Nick Watson finishing out the game in the ninth.

Rowan made one of its typical quick starts by scoring seven runs in its first at-bat.  After Evan McCoach and Damon Suriani hit back-to-back singles, Davis drove in McCoach with a single and Ian Murphy hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to bring home Suriani. Struble followed with an RBI double and Joey Bogart hit a two-run single to increase the lead to 5-0. The Profs batted around and McCoach and Suriani each got their second hits of the inning, both RBI singles, to give Rowan a 7-0 lead.

Bogart picked up another RBI single in the second and the Profs had an 8-0 lead.

The Huskies (31-11) got two runs back in the top of the third and Rowan answered with a pair after McCoach scored on a balk and Suriani was driven home after Murphy doubled to take a 10-2 lead.

The teams continued to trade runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Mike Anquillare homered for the Huskies and then for Rowan, Brett Chiesa scored on a ground out by McCoach and Suriani hit another RBI single to increase the advantage to 12-3.

Southern Maine's Kaiden Morin hit a two-run double in the top of the fifth, but Murphy scored on a double-play ball by Chiesa and the Profs had a 13-5 lead.

In the eighth, Bogart singled in Struble and then Davis clubbed a grand slam for his NJAC-leading 13 homer of the season, which was the first slam of his career. That scored Suriani, Mason Dorsey and Bogart and gave Rowan a commanding 18-5 lead.
