INDIANAPOLIS – The New Jersey Athletic Conference will be represented by two programs in the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament, as Rowan University and Stockton University both earned berths following Monday's selection announcement.
Rowan earned its 14th NJAC Championship and third consecutive to secure its spot in the national tournament. The Profs are making their 32nd all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth in as many seasons.
Rowan will face St. Thomas (Texas) of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in the first round on Thursday at East Texas Baptist, which serves as the regional host. First pitch is TBA. The Profs are familiar with the Marshall, Texas, site, having appeared there in both 2023 and 2024. St. Thomas earned an at-large bid after falling in the SCAC Championship Finals. East Texas Baptist will take on Denison in Thursday's other first-round matchup.
Stockton is making its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, capping a historic season that also included the program's first NJAC regular season title and first appearance in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll. The Ospreys enter the tournament ranked 17th in the NCAA Power Index and 18th in the NFCA poll on the strength of a 30-7 record — the program's highest win total since 2016.
Stockton will play in a four-team pod at 12th-ranked Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA) and will face UMass Dartmouth in the first round on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Host WPI and Albertus Magnus (CT) round out the regional field.
Both regionals follow a double-elimination format and run through Saturday. The regional winners will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals the following weekend. Eight Super Regional winners will then convene at the NCAA Championship Tournament, scheduled for May 28–June 3 at Moyer Park in Salem, Virginia.
