UNION, N.J. (4/28/26) – Rielynn Carey's sacrifice fly in the fifth vaulted the third seeded Kean University softball team to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals with a 3-2 victory over the sixth seeded Ramapo College Roadrunners in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
- Kean opened the scoring with back-to-back RBI's in the first by Samantha Raymond and Nikki Lusnia.
- Ramapo responded with a sacrifice fly in the second and scored on a defensive error in the fourth.
- The Cougars got the go ahead run in the fifth with a Carey sac fly that allowed Brianna Sciulli to score.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Sciulli finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
- Gina Mahlik, Raymond, Lusnia, Maddie Cerami, Morgan Boyd and Ashley Weber all recorded a hit.
- Lusnia tossed a complete game, allowing just two hits.
