Kean Sweeps NJAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors; Mitchell, Quinn, Krzyzak Honored

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's volleyball weekly award winners for the week ending March 22.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS MITCHELL • Kean University
Senior • Outside Hitter • Howell, NJ/Howell

Mitchell is named NJAC Player of the Week after pacing the Cougars to a 3-1 week and the 2026 NJAC men's volleyball title with 53 kills, six aces, 31 digs, and nine blocks across four matches. The senior averaged 3.79 kills per set and hit .262 on the week, opening with a dominant .684 hitting performance and five aces in a 3-0 sweep of Edgewood. In conference play, he recorded 16 kills and 12 digs in a title-clinching 3-1 victory over Rutgers-Newark. Mitchell closed the week with back-to-back performances of 11 and 13 kills against Elizabethtown and No. 4 Juniata, respectively, while contributing blocks in all four matches. His all-around production — averaging 4.61 points per set — anchored Kean's attack throughout a demanding schedule. He currently leads the NJAC in kills (3.72/set) and points (4.30/set), and is sixth in hitting percentage (.285) and seventh in blocks (0.61/set).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TYLER QUINN • Kean University
Junior • Libero • Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley

Quinn claims NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after collecting 37 digs across Kean's 3-1, conference title-clinching week, averaging 2.64 per set. The junior was at his best when it mattered most, recording a season-high 15 digs in a four-set battle against No. 4 Juniata to close the week. He also contributed four assists and provided steady back-row play in Kean's title-clinching conference win over Rutgers-Newark, helping limit the Raiders' attack. Quinn added eight digs apiece in sweeps of Edgewood and Elizabethtown. He currently leads the NJAC with 3.19 digs per set.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CADEN KRZYZAK • Kean University
Freshman • Middle Blocker • Vernon, NJ/Sussex County Tech

Krzyzak garners NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after totaling 19 kills, a .282 hitting percentage, and 10 blocks across Kean's 3-1 week. The freshman delivered his signature performance in the Cougars' conference title-clinching win over Rutgers-Newark, hitting a blistering .571 with nine kills on just 14 attempts while committing only one attack error. His presence at the net was a factor all week, as he recorded three block assists against Elizabethtown before posting a week-high six blocks — including one solo — against No. 4 Juniata. Krzyzak currently leads all NJAC players in blocks, averaging 1.03 per set and racking up 79 total blocks.
