MONTCLAIR, NJ --- Montclair State captured the 2025–26 NJAC Men’s Basketball regular season title with a 98–85 victory over NJCU, continuing a historic campaign that has seen the Red Hawks rise to No. 1 in the nation in the latest D3hoops.com poll — the program’s first-ever top national ranking. With the win, MSU secured the conference’s top seed in the upcoming NJAC Basketball Tournament and earned a quarterfinal-round bye. The tournament opens Saturday, Feb. 21, with quarterfinal matchups between the #4 and #5 seeds and the #3 and #6 seeds at the sites of the higher seeds. Montclair State will host the winner of the #4/#5 contest in a semifinal matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 25, with the NJAC championship game set for Saturday, Feb. 28.
