TCNJ, Rowan to Host First Weekend of NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS --- TCNJ and Rowan are headed to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, which opens this weekend. Both programs earned hosting rights for the first weekend of play.
 
The 12th-ranked Lions earned the NJAC’s automatic bid and were selected as a host of an opening round pod for the fourth consecutive season. They will welcome No. 17 Stevens and George Fox to the Lacrosse & Field Hockey Complex this weekend.
 
TCNJ received a bye to Sunday's second round and will await the winner of the first-round clash between the Ducks and Bruins. Both games will start at 1:00 PM.
 
The Lions (14-4) are fresh off their 14th consecutive NJAC title over the weekend to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the 39th consecutive season.
 
Rowan will be making its 12th all-time NCAA appearance thanks to an at-large bid and will host for the first time since 2018. This will be the Profs’ seventh trip to the tournament under head coach Lindsay Delaney.
 
WestConn (16-2) will meet Merchant Marine (13-2) in the First Round on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with the winner advancing to face Rowan in the Second Round on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Both teams were champions in their respective conferences with WestConn earning the Little East Conference title and USMMA winning the Skyline Conference championship.
 
Rowan (15-3) set the school record for victories and finished as the runner-up in the NJAC.
 
Rowan recorded the best start to a season in program history as it won its first eight games and among the highlights was a win over #4 Franklin & Marshall for its first win over a Top 10 team since 2010.
