TCNJ Suffers Season-Ending Loss to Stevens

EWING, N.J. – The No. 12 TCNJ women's lacrosse team had its season ended on Sunday with a 15-9 loss at the hands of No. 17 Stevens in an intra-state matchup in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Stevens (17-4) never trailed in advancing to the third round for the first time in program history, setting up a showdown with Colby.

TCNJ wrapped up its 2025 campaign with an overall record of 14-5.

The Ducks netted the opening goal just over 90 seconds after game time, and the red-clad visitors had several changes to expand their lead in the first frame, only to be denied by a handful of spectacular point-blank saves from Julia Charest.

The fifth-year net-minder's play helped the Lions pull even at 1-1 with 6:31 to go in the period on a goal from CJ Kole, and the opening frame ended with the score still deadlocked.

Stevens went ahead for good 48 seconds into the second, part of a 4-0 spurt that made it 5-1 before Ally Tobler stopped the bleeding with the first of her four goals on the day. The Ducks, however, took a 6-2 lead into halftime and quickly expanded on it after intermission, embarking on a 5-1 run to push their advantage out to 11-3 at the midway point of the third.

The Lions, spurred on by Tobler, pulled within six on multiple occasions but were unable to inch closer as Stevens celebrated its historic victory.
