NJCU's Pardasie and Peralta, Rutgers-Newark's Roco Earn NJAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's volleyball weekly award winners for the week ending April 6.
 

 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MARCUS PARDASIE • New Jersey City University
Sophomore • Outside Hitter • Paramus, NJ / Cresskill
 
Pardasie is named NJAC Player of the Week after delivering a dominant offensive stretch in NJCU’s 2-0 week. The sophomore outside hitter totaled 47 kills over seven sets, averaging 6.71 kills and 6.86 points per set while hitting .447. He opened the week with 13 kills on 22 swings without an error (.591) in a sweep of Old Westbury, also adding two digs, an ace, and a block. He followed that performance with a career-high 34 kills on 63 attempts (.397) in a four-set NJAC win over Ramapo—marking the second-highest single-match kill total in program history and the most ever by a Gothic Knight in a four-set match. Pardasie currently leads the NJAC in kills per set (4.33) and points per set (4.89), is fourth in hitting percentage (.333), and fifth in digs per set (2.20).
 
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Peralta is named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after compiling 31 digs and averaging 4.43 digs per set across a pair of wins for NJCU. He opened the week with 10 digs, eight kills, and two blocks while hitting .222 in a 3-0 victory over Old Westbury. He then followed with a sensational 21-dig effort in a four-set win over Ramapo, tying his career high and anchoring NJCU’s back row. He also tallied 12 kills in that match to bring his weekly totals to 20 kills, two blocks, and 24.0 points, while averaging 2.86 kills and 3.43 points per set. Peralta currently ranks third in the NJAC in service aces per set (0.38), fifth in kills per set (2.97), sixth in points per set (3.51), and seventh in digs per set (1.90).
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Roco is named NJAC Rookie of the Week after recording 15 kills and seven total blocks while hitting .357 over a two-match weekend for the Scarlet Raiders. In a four-set match against MIT, he posted 11 kills on 18 attempts (.444) and added three total blocks with a dig, finishing with 14.0 points. He then added four kills and four more blocks in a sweep of Curry, bringing his weekly average to 2.14 kills, 1.00 blocks, and 3.36 points per set. Roco continues to lead the NJAC in hitting percentage (.411) and blocks per set (0.92) during an outstanding freshman campaign.
