TCNJ's Albert and Mannan Earn Major Awards; NJAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Announced

PITMAN, NJ --- The College of New Jersey sophomore Zoey Albert (Millers Creek, NC/Acellus Academy) and freshman teammate Shruti Mannan (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) have been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player and Rookie of the Year respectively for the 2025 season.

Their selections highlighted the 11-member NJAC Women’s Tennis All-Conference Team which was announced on April 24. All selections were made by a vote of the league’s five head coaches and were based on conference-only match results.

Albert, last year’s Rookie of the Year, picked up NJAC Player of the Year honors after posting a perfect 4-0 record in top-flight NJAC singles play and owns an 10-6 overall dual match singles record this spring. She also teamed with Mannan to produce a perfect 4-0 mark in top-flight NJAC doubles play this season, as they dropped just one game in conference doubles. During the fall portion of the schedule, Albert advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regional. Albert is now a two-time all-NJAC singles and two-time all-NJAC doubles honoree.

A two-time NJAC weekly award selection, Mannan put together a perfect 4-0 record in NJAC singles play at the No. 3 spot. She did not drop a single game in conference action, winning all her matches 6-0, 6-0. She currently owns a 12-4 overall singles record this spring. Mannan combined with Albert at the top-flight doubles spot, going 4-0 in league play and dropping just one game in that span. Mannan also won her first round matchups in both singles and doubles at the ITA Northeast Regional in the fall.

Stockton head coach Harry Silverstein and assistant Jack Sorensen were selected as the Flo Labenski Co-Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers. They led the Ospreys to a 3-1 league mark and hosting rights to one of the conference semifinals, eventually winning that semifinal 4-3 to advance to the championship match. The Ospreys are 6-2 overall this spring, accomplishing their success despite a small roster.

TCNJ head coach Scott Dicheck and assistants Michael Klimchak, Mark Riches, and Jason Ciaccio were also named the Flo Labenski Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. They led the Lions to another perfect league season, as the Lions have not dropped an NJAC match since the inception of the program in 1982. They are seeking their 42nd consecutive NJAC title when they host the conference championship match on Saturday.
