PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its softball weekly award winners for the week ending April 20.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JULIA KINNALLY • The College of New Jersey
Graduate Student • Infielder • Pearl River, NY / Pearl River
Kinnally earned NJAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .538 (7-for-13) with five runs scored, seven RBI, three doubles, a home run, and a stolen base across a 3-1 week for the Lions. She was the catalyst in TCNJ’s 5-2 win over then-unbeaten Rowan, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and four RBI to hand the Profs their first loss in 364 days. Kinnally followed up by going 4-for-6 with two doubles, four runs, and three RBI in a sweep of NJCU. She slugged 1.000 and reached base at a .500 clip for the week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
NERINA TRAMP • Stockton University
Senior • Pitcher • Blackwood, NJ / Highland
Tramp was named NJAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this spring after throwing 20.0 shutout innings across three complete-game outings, going 2-1 with a 0.00 ERA and 21 strikeouts. She opened the week with a 6.0-inning, seven-strikeout shutout of Rutgers-Camden. In a tough-luck loss to Swarthmore, she allowed just three hits and one unearned run over 7.0 innings while fanning nine. She capped her week with a one-hit, 7.0-inning shutout of Ramapo in a 1-0 victory, striking out five and walking none. Opponents hit just .118 against her.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SOPHIA ALONSO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Outfielder • Tinton Falls, NJ / Monmouth Regional
Alonso collected her second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after batting .429 (3-for-7) with two RBI, four runs scored, and three stolen bases across a 2-2 week for the Red Hawks. She reached base in all four games and hit safely in three of them while drawing four walks. She went 1-for-2 with a run and RBI in each win over NJCU, then added another hit and run scored in a loss to Kean. Alonso reached base at a .615 clip and was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
STEPHANIE CIRAVOLO • William Paterson University
Freshman • Pitcher • Marlboro, NJ / Marlboro
Ciravolo earned NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this year after tossing a five-inning shutout in a 7-0 win over Lehman. The freshman allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out one and facing only three batters over the minimum. She held opponents to a .125 batting average and threw just 63 pitches to complete the game.
