TCNJ Dominates NJAC Men's Cross Country Championship

GALLOWAY, NJ --- TCNJ claimed the 2025 NJAC Men's Cross Country Championship on Friday at Stockton with a commanding performance, scoring just 22 points behind individual champion Brandon Chen and placing an astonishing seven runners in the top 10.
 
Chen, a junior, won the 8,000-meter race in 24:56.6. TCNJ's dominance was evident as Kevin Matthews finished third (25:07.2), Matt Granizo took fifth (25:22.5), Phil Pace placed sixth (25:26.4), and Moksh Patwari rounded out the scoring in seventh (25:37.3). Evan Melito finished eighth (25:43.0) and freshman Josh Santiago took 10th (25:49.7), giving TCNJ seven of the top 10 places. The Lions' top five crossed the line within a remarkable 40.7-second spread.
 
Rowan finished as runners-up with 47 points. Senior Matthew Conway led the Profs with a second-place finish in 25:04.7, followed by Colin Patterson in fourth (25:15.5). Freshman Elijah Whitaker placed 11th (25:56.6), while Sean Hice (13th, 26:19.3) and Aidan Brad (17th, 26:33.5) completed Rowan's scoring five.
 
Host Stockton took third place with 91 points, paced by Joshua Corsentino's ninth-place finish in 25:48.0. Conor Clifford was 15th (26:27.2), Muhammad Khan placed 20th (26:48.2), Shane McDevitt finished 22nd (27:21.4), and Patrick Storti completed the Ospreys' scoring in 25th (27:23.8).
 
Ramapo finished fourth with 102 points, led by senior Ryan Pena's 14th-place effort (26:22.6). The Roadrunners' scoring was completed by Julian Mignone (16th, 26:30.4), Brandon Meneses (21st, 27:00.2), Matthew Reed (24th, 27:22.9), and Brian Metz (27th, 27:29.8).
 
Kean placed fifth with 153 points, with Eldon Reynoso leading the way in 23rd place (27:22.3). Jonathan Rivera finished 29th (28:08.8), Angel Alarcon was 32nd (29:23.3), Najib Robinson took 34th (30:37.3), and Andrew Martinez rounded out the scoring in 35th (31:01.4).
 
Rutgers-Camden finished sixth with 166 points, led by Jacob Dinerman's strong 12th-place finish (26:06.5). Jack Wessner (33rd, 29:46.6), Dylan Davies (38th, 31:38.7), Joseph Simone (41st, 33:23.7), and Angel Chaj (42nd, 33:36.4) completed their scoring.
 
Rutgers-Newark placed seventh with 208 points, paced by Daniel Cortez in 36th place (31:29.7). Carlos Gonzales Delgado finished 40th (32:24.1), Kyle Rolffot was 43rd (34:57.5), Wascar Olivero took 44th (35:24.1), and Godswill Abasifreke completed the scoring in 45th (36:17.6).
