Montclair State's Prendergast and Guzzardo, Rowan's Baker Earn NJAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 26.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KYLIE PRENDERGAST • Montclair State University
Senior • Forward • Livingston, NJ/Livingston

Prendergast is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time after she led Montclair State during a perfect 2-0 week. She netted two goals and the game-winner in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Ramapo before adding another game-winning goal and an assist for three points in Saturday's 4-1 triumph at Stockton. Her two goals and two assists gave her seven points for the week, and she put all three shot attempts on goal across the two matches. The senior forward currently leads the NJAC in both goals (8) and points (20) during conference play this season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MAKALA BAKER • Rowan University
Sophomore • Defender • Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown

Baker picks up her second and Rowan’s third NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after she anchored a defense that delivered two dominant shutout performances in conference victories over Kean (3-0) and Ramapo (6-0). The sophomore and her backline did not allow a single shot on goal across both matches – and just one shot total – completely stifling the opposition's attack in her 171 minutes of action. Baker leads the Rowan defense that has allowed just two goals in conference play so far this year.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CARLY GUZZARDO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Midfielder/Defender • Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro

Guzzardo collects her first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after she orchestrated Montclair State's attack during an undefeated week, dishing out three assists in two conference victories. The first-year standout set up a goal in Wednesday's 3-0 triumph over Ramapo before delivering her finest performance on Saturday against Stockton. She recorded two assists in the 4-1 road win, including helpers on both the game-tying and game-winning goals, playing 152 minutes across the two contests. Guzzardo leads the NJAC in conference-only assists (6) this year.
