PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MARTIN CHROMULAK • Rutgers-Newark
5th Year • Outside Hitter • Garfield, NJ/Garfield
Chromulak picked up NJAC Player of the Week after he helped the Scarlet Raiders secure its first Contintental Volleyball Conference (CVC) win of the season over Elizabethtown, 3-1, in the lone match of the week. He posted a team-high 16 kills and six block assists, added four digs, and swung .270 for the match. For the season, Chromulak is averaging 3.16 kills and 3.75 points per set.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRANDON DaSILVA • New Jersey City University
5th Year • Middle Blocker • Kearny, NJ/Kearny
DaSilva, now a two-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week this season, played in six of eight sets last week as he efficiently led NJCU to a 2-0 mark, helping his squad extend its winning streak to nine in a row. He finished with 23 kills (team-high 3.83/set) and just two errors on 38 swings (team-high .553 hitting percentage) to go with a team-high 10 blocks (1.67/set) for a total of 30.0 points (team-best 5.00/set). DaSilva began with six kills and no errors on seven swings (.857), a dig and a block over just one set playing in the quick 3-0 home win over Old Westbury. In a big 3-2 road win over two-time defending Skyline champions St. Joseph's (LI), he showed out with a season-high 17 kills and just two errors on 31 swings (.484) to go with a match-best nine blocks, and two digs.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARCUS PARDASIE • New Jersey City University
Freshman • Outside Hitter • Paramus, NJ/Cresskill
Now a six-time NJAC Rookie of the Week, Pardasie notched a team-high 28 kills (3.50/set) with eight errors on 61 swings (.328 hitting percentage) to go with a team-high 21 digs (2.63/set), a team-high six aces (0.75/set) and two blocks for a team-high 35.5 points (4.44/set). Pardasie began with nine error-less kills on 19 swings (.474) to go with a team-best 11 digs and a match-high six aces in the sweep of Old Westbury. Then, in Wednesday's win over St. Joe's-LI, the freshman had a team- and career-best 19 kills and eight errors on 42 swings (.262) to go with 10 digs – the first double-double of his career – and two blocks.
