Rowan's Nkrumah, FSC's Lourenco, TCNJ's Attali Earn NJAC Men's Indoor Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's indoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 4.
 


TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KWAKU NKRUMAH • Rowan University
Sophomore • Englewood, NJ/Teaneck
 
Nkrumah earns his first and Rowan’s fifth NJAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season. In helping Rowan to capture the Metropolitan Championship title, Nkrumah won the 60 meter hurdles by tying his personal record with an 8.12. That time currently ranks ninth in NCAA Division III. He also ran the 200, clocking a 22.89.


FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
NICHOLAS LOURENCO • Farmingdale State College
Sophomore • Bay Shore, NY/St. Anthony’s
 
Lourenco is named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for the third time after yet another record on the pole vault, this time at the Coast Guard Invitational. He broke his own school record, clearing a winning height of 4.90m (16-0.75). His mark is ninth in NCAA Division III and tops in the Metro Region.


ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JACK ATTALI • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest
 
Attali collects his fourth NJAC Rookie of the Week award for his performance at the NYU DIII Invitational. He won the 60 meter hurdles, tying his best time of 8.15, and won the 200 meters with a school-record time of 21.84 seconds. His time in the 200 meters is the fastest time in the Metro Region and is also among the top 30 nationally. His time in the 60 meter hurdles is tied for 13th in NCAA Division III.
