PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Dec. 1.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NA'CAIA JACKSON • Rutgers-Camden
Senior • Guard • Bear, DE/Mount Pleasant
Jackson collects her first NJAC Player of the Week honor of the season after leading Rutgers-Camden to a win in the NJAC opener against Rutgers-Newark. The senior guard recorded a career-high of 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting (54%) in a 78-73 win over the Scarlet Raiders. She added seven rebounds, three assists, and tied her career high with four steals in the victory. Jackson's performance helped the Scarlet Raptors win their first NJAC opener since 2016-17. A transfer in her first season with Rutgers-Camden, she is second on the team in scoring (10.7 ppg) and has been a consistent all-around contributor, averaging 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CASSIDY BROWN • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Guard • Middletown, NJ/Middletown South
Brown earns her first career weekly honor as the NJAC Rookie of the Week. The freshman guard scored a season-high 12 points in TCNJ’s 50-48 win over William Paterson in the NJAC opener. Coming off the bench, Brown delivered a clutch performance, going 4-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, including a critical three-pointer that tied the game with six minutes left. In addition to her scoring, Brown contributed three rebounds, an assist, and a steal while providing key defensive efforts.
