Farmingdale State's Aguilar and Bamfo, Montclair State's Sylvester Earn NJAC Men's Indoor Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's indoor track and field weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 15.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
GABRIEL AGUILAR • Farmingdale State College
Sophomore • Levittown, NY/Division Avenue
 
Aguilar collects his first NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honor for his performance at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge at Southern Connecticut State. He won the mile run for the Rams, clocking in at 4:57.27 (4:53.53 converted). He currently owns the eighth fastest mile in the NJAC so far this season.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
DANIEL BAMFO • Farmingdale State College
Junior  • Lake Grove, NY/Connetquot
 
Bamfo earns his first NJAC Field Athlete of the Week award after a stellar performance at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge at Southern Connecticut State. He won the triple jump with a career-best mark of 14.25m, posting an AARTFC qualifying mark in the process and moving to third in Farmingdale State program history. His triple jump currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division III and first in the NJAC.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KYESHAUN SYLVESTER • Montclair State University
Freshman • Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Regional
 
Sylvester is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for his record-setting performance at the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner College. In his first-ever collegiate meet, the rookie sprinter broke the Montclair State program record in the 300 meter dash with a 35.63 second finish. That time ranks 10th in NCAA Division III this year. He also contributed to a seventh place finish for the 4x400 meter relay team that also clocked the seventh-fastest time in the Metro Region this season (3:31.68 converted to 3:35.07 for track size).
