Rutgers-Newark's Medina, Rutgers-Camden's Edmundo Earn NJAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Nov. 24.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ARLENNY MEDINA • Rutgers-Newark
Sophomore • Guard • Bronx, NY/Elmwood Park
 
Medina collects her first career NJAC Player of the Week honor. In Rutgers-Newark's lone game of the week, Medina led the Raiders to a 40-point win on the road at York (NY). The guard recorded her first double-double of the season, as she tallied career-highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. The sophomore shot 10 of 19 from the field for a solid 52.6 percent. Medina also tallied a career-high nine assists and career-high seven steals to nearly register a quadruple double and record the best all-around game of her career.

Edmundo earns her second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor in the first three weeks of the season. She averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals across a pair of games for Rutgers-Camden. She recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards to go with five assists, three steals, and a block against Penn State-Harrisburg. Earlier in the week, Edmundo scored 16 points along with two steals, and an assist and rebound each. For the season she is averaging 15.4 points and 7.4 rebounds, both leading the team.
