2024 NJAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Announced

PITMAN, NJ --- Stockton University sophomore opposite hitter Nicole Palmer (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) and William Paterson University senior libero Paola Molina (Hatillo, PR/Colegio San Felipe) have been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Player and Defensive Player of the Year to headline the 2024 all-conference team. This marks the second straight year the pair has been named as the top players in the conference.

Additionally, Montclair State University freshman outside hitter Camryn Muuss (Parker, CO/Legend) is the Rookie of the Year; and William Paterson head coach Kevin Rodgers and his staff were tabbed the NJAC’s Joy Solomen Coaching Staff of the Year for the second straight year.

In total, 21 student-athletes earned all-conference recognition for the fall 2024 season. All-conference and major award selections were determined by a vote of the league’s nine head coaches and are based on conference-only performances.

Palmer now owns two Player of the Year awards in her two collegiate seasons so far. She led the NJAC this year in conference-only service aces, averaging nearly an ace per set. She also ranked fourth in conference-only points per set (4.12), fifth in conference-only hitting percentage (.288), and ninth in conference-only kills per set (3.00). She also sported the Ospreys’ highest conference-only dig average among non-liberos (2.29/set). She often had setting duties in Stockton’s 6-2 rotation and contributed 1.57 assists per set in conference action.  Palmer recorded two double-doubles against NJAC opponents plus a triple-double in the Ospreys’ win over Rowan. She also recorded a triple-double in nonconference play against Drew. Palmer was a five-time NJAC Player of the Week during the regular season.

Molina earns the Defensive Player of the Year honor for the second year after anchoring William Paterson to the regular season title and first-ever top seed in program history for the NJAC Tournament. She led all NJAC players in conference-only digs per set this year, averaging 5.52 per set which was 0.66 digs per set better than the second-highest. She scooped 10+ digs in every conference match with a season-high 32 in a four-set win over Montclair State. She also hit double figures in digs in all but two matches total this season. Molina was a six-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week, including a span of three consecutive weeks bridging October into November.

Muuss quickly established herself as one of the NJAC’s top players in just her rookie season. She led all NJAC players in conference-only kills per set (4.50) and conference-only points per set (4.66). She was one of only two players to average over four kills. She also ranked seventh in conference-only hitting percentage (.276) and was among the top 25 in conference-only digs per set (2.11). Muuss recorded three double-doubles in NJAC play. She also hit double figure kills in all but one NJAC match, with a season-high 30 kills on a .400 hitting percentage in a four-set win over Stockton.

Rodgers and assistants Tiffani Causing and Bill Le continued to build on the Pioneers’ historic 2023 season, this year elevating the program to the 2024 regular season title and the program’s first-ever number one seed in the conference tournament. They guided the Pioneers to a 7-1 conference regular season record and have hit 20 wins overall for the second straight year. Under their guidance, four players earned All-Conference honors and Molina earned the conference’s top defensive honor for the second time.
