PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's tennis weekly honors for the week ending March 27.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SARAH AHRENS • Rutgers-Camden

Ahrens is named NJAC Player of the Week for the first time this season. She swept her two matches as the Scarlet Raptors opened their conference schedule with a 9-0 win over William Paterson. The Raptors’ top singles player, she posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top flight, while teaming with Tiffany Trivers to win the No. 1 doubles match, 8-0. Ahrens is currently 9-5 in singles this season and owns an 11-0 doubles record.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SARA ZORZAN • New Jersey City University
Freshman • Milan, Italy/Liceo Falcone Borsellino
Zorzan earns her first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after picking up wins in both singles and doubles last week. She opened the week with strong play against Division I Wagner, defeating Wagner’s Allegra d’Allesandro 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. She teamed up with sister Giada at No. 1 doubles in an 8-4 setback to Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin. In NJCU’s 9-0 win over Yeshiva, Zorzan did not drop a game as she defeated Anna Elfassy 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and teamed up with Giada for an 8-0 win over Leora Moskowitz and Elisheva Gofman at No. 1 doubles. Zorzan is currently 3-3 in singles overall with her losses coming against only Division I opponents.
