PITMAN, NJ --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's indoor track and field weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 11.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
MAX DUBAC • Ramapo College
Graduate Student • Clifton, NJ/Clifton
Dubac becomes the second Roadrunner in as many weeks to earn NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors. Dubac set a Ramapo school record in the 600 meters at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, clocking 1:21.84. That time is good for third in NCAA Division III so far this season. He also ran leadoff for the Roadrunners’ 4x400 meter relay that posted a time of 3:24.30, which ranks as the 14th-fastest in the nation.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JOHN GRIFFITH • Montclair State University
Junior • Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands
Griffith collects his first NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honor of the season after hitting an AARTFC-qualifying mark in the shot put at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday. He tossed 15.01 meters in his season debut, which ranks as the 13th-farthest throw in NCAA Division III on the young season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
GAVIN LUM • Stockton University
Freshman • Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional
Lum is named NJAC Rookie of the Week after a strong outing at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational. Lum earned his first career victory by topping a field of nine in the 60m hurdles. The freshman posted the top time in the preliminaries by running 8.53 seconds and then won the final at 8.91 seconds. In addition, Lum ran a leg of the 4x400 relay to help Stockton finish third out of 19 squads with a time of 3:39.70. Lum currently ranks in the top 25 nationally in the 60m hurdles.
