PITMAN, NJ --- Rowan University fifth year outside hitter
Natalie Ogden (Downingtown, PA/Bishop Shanahan) has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year for the 2022 season.
Addtionally, Kean University senior libero
Sian Seeger (Leesburg, VA/Tuscarora) garnered NJAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and Stockton University outside hitter
Kate Louer (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) earned NJAC Rookie of the Year honors. Rowan University head coach
Deana Jespersen was selected as the NJAC Joy Solomen Coach of the Year.
In total, 23 student-athletes garnered all-conference recognition in NJAC women’s volleyball. All selections were determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches and based on regular season conference-only performances.
A three-time all-conference selection,
Ogden led Rowan to its second consecutive undefeated conference record. She ranked second in conference-only kills per set (3.52) and conference-only points per set (4.02) and was in the top-15 in both digs per set (2.66) and total service aces (13). On Oct. 8, Ogden became the first player in Rowan program history to register over 1,000 career digs and 1,000 career kills. She earned NJAC Player of the Week three times this season.
Seeger anchored a Kean defensive effort that limited opponents to a league-low .081 team hitting percentage. A two-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree, she ranked third among all NJAC players with 4.35 digs per set in conference-only play. Seeger helped Kean sweep six matches against NJAC opponents this year; five in the regular season and most recently in the NJAC semifinal.
Louer made an immediate impact on a Stockton squad that posted a 20-win season. The first-year collegiate volleyball player and six-time Rookie of the Week led all NJAC rookies in conference-only kills per set (3.15) and conference-only points per set (3.54) while ranking fifth among all NJAC players in those categories. She also added 2.48 digs per set in conference action to rank among the top 20.
Jespersen earned Coach of the Year honors by her peers for fourth time in her tenure in Glassboro. Jespersen’s squad went undefeated in conference play for the second straight year and are 23-6 overall so far with an NJAC championship title on the line on Saturday. Her program is a combined 50-12 over the past two seasons.
