GALLOWAY, NJ --- Stockton duo Cooper Knorr and Daniel Do went 1-2 at the NJAC Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning but all seven TCNJ scorers finished in the top 10 as the Lions eked out a one-point victory over the host Ospreys in an exciting meet.
The Lions compiled 29 team points, edging the Ospreys who posted 30. NJCU finished third in the team standings with 90 points, and Rutgers-Camden rounded out the field with 96 points.
The title is the the second in the last three years and 30th overall for TCNJ.
Knorr won the individual title by over 20 seconds, crossing the finish line of the 8K race in 25:33, and Do posted a runner-up time of 25:54. Classmate Kyle Navalance was the third Osprey in the top four, clocking a 26:03 for fourth place.
TCNJ rookie Chase Miller finished third overall with a time of 25:58. Following Stockton's Navalance, a pride of Lions occupied the next six spots. Jack Ennis led the group with a fifth-place finish of 26:11, followed by Kevin Christensen (6th; 26:23), Michael Bond (7th; 26:32), John Raisley (8th; 26:55), Benjamin Fanta (9th; 26:57), and Andrew Chamberlain (10th; 27:02).
Jason Hyland led Rutgers-Camden with a 14th place finish (27:45) and David Morrow also placed in the top 20 with a 17th place time of 28:15.
NJCU was led by Jose Recinos and Julius Libutsi, who both finished in the top 20 individually. Recinos posted a 19th place time of 28:24 and Libutsi was just behind with a 20th place time of 28:31.
