Class of 2020 Spotlight: Rutgers-Newark Baseball

The New Jersey Athletic Conference honors the seniors across all of our spring sports who had their seasons painfully cut short by the global pandemic, but whose dedication, perseverance, and passion for their sport, their academics, and their institution over the last four years was nothing short of admirable. Thank You Seniors, and congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2020!

CONNOR CLARE

"Connor has been a juggernaut in the middle of our lineup for the past two years. He is the All-American kid, a coach's dream, the type of player you want to build your team around. His leadership on and off the field will be something this team will miss next season."

---Head Coach Kevin Kelley

JOHN KLIMOWICH

"Coaches always talk about looking for players with intangibles, being able to do the little things. Well, that was John. A word that comes to mind is versatility. He was tough to defend. He could do it all - bunt, bunt for a hit, hit for power, hit to all fields, and he could run. His teammates loved him. He was their leader!"

---Head Coach Kevin Kelley

TOMMY SCANLON

"Tommy is a player every coach should have on their team. Great teammate, coachable, solid defender, and could handle the bat. His tireless work ethic is why he was successful at Rutgers-Newark and why he will be successful in his next chapter in life."

---Head Coach Kevin Kelley

KEVIN TAMSULA

"Kevin is a born leader - it comes naturally to him. He is constantly pushing his teammates and getting everyone involved to derive the best results possible for the team. His character, integrity, passion, and his ability to command respect is the main reason we named him a captain."

---Head Coach Kevin Kelley
