ATHLETICS MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST (PART-TIME)


Kean University is seeking a part-time Athletics Multimedia Specialist, responsible for creating, managing and delivering high-quality multimedia content that contributes to the vision of the Athletic Director, increases the visibility of our athletic programs and engages fans across relevant platforms. This part-time position will be responsible for producing video highlights, graphic design and managing social media content. This position will require working nights and weekends during athletic contests.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Produce written content related to athletics, marketing materials, social media posts, website content, and printed media needs.
  • Create both long- and short-form video for use in social media campaigns, on our website, in marketing vehicles, and for broad distribution to the community.
  • Responsible for creating and executing digital and social media strategy for the Athletic department, including designing and executing creative content to drive fan engagement and brand awareness in accordance with Kean University’s strategy.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of influential social media platforms as well as the enhancement of new social media trends (TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Oversee the student social media team that is responsible for creating video content for internal use and coordinating video projects in support of the athletic department's strategic goals. Produce fresh videos and coverage on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Create and implement a campus marketing strategy to help increase student engagement and attendance, as well as enhance the fan experience and game day atmosphere for home contests.
  • Assist the Sports Communication staff with game coverage and promotion of Athletic events, including writing game previews, identifying and creating stories, compiling statistics and organizing communications content.
 
Position Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of professional communications and marketing related experience required.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro, Illustrator), Canva, and social media platforms
  • Digital photography/videography skills
  • This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and creative thinking
  • The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial and self-motivated individual who has demonstrated resourcefulness, and also acts as a collaborative team member.


 





RUTGERS UNIVERSITY-NEWARK
ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS GRADUATE COORDINATOR


Rutgers University-Newark Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites applications for the 10-month position (August – May) of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant.
 
Rutgers University-Newark is a NCAA Division III program with 14 intercollegiate teams, and is a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
 
Benefits include tuition and fees waiver for 24 credits per year, and an annual stipend of $8,000 if they DON’T live on campus. Tuition and fees waiver for 24 credits per year, and an annual stipend of $1,000 if they DO live on campus. Position is renewable semester by semester. Graduate Assistants will be responsible for their own health care and parking permits. Housing contracts are for 10 months. Start date is August 12, 2025. The Graduate Assistant will report to the Director of Athletics Communications.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree; studies in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field is highly preferred
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills, particularly in a public relations setting, is highly preferred
  • Prior experience with statistical software programs (Statcrew, NCAA Live Stats), InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as prior experience in a college sports information setting, is highly preferred
  • Proven success in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours as well as holidays
  • Candidate must be accepted to one of 21 graduate programs offered at the University

Posting Summary:
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking an Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation. The Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation will serve on the athletic leadership team advising the Director of Athletics on departmental matters and strategic and development planning. This position will have formal supervisory responsibilities for multiple employees, identified athletic programs, and additional areas that foster athletic success and academic excellence within the department. The Associate Director will be responsible for all NCAA Compliance and will provide a variety of training for student-athletes and staff. Additionally, this candidate will assist in achieving annual departmental fundraising goals, commit to supporting the holistic student-athlete with special consideration to mental health and overall wellness of student-athletes, and demonstrate a collaborative management style to work across campus with all constituencies.
 
The Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation will provide extended oversight of the NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Athletic Program at Rutgers University-Camden, in addition will assist with the development and implementation of NCAA Division III programing, compliant with regulations of the NCAA. The Associate Director will supervise & assess designated sport programs and manage day-to-day operations in accordance with the Director of Athletics and Recreation. Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and conducting training for the coaching staff in areas of NCAA compliance, university, conference and department rules, policies and procedures, along with additional professional development training, ensuring that all department members have full knowledge of and abide by the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, and the NJAC Conference. They will promote a competitive athletic atmosphere consistent with the NCAA DIII philosophy.
 
The key duties and responsibilities of the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation include serving as the department NCAA Compliance Officer, supervision and training coaching staff, oversight of the athletic training services and vendor partnership, coordination of travel and scheduling for all departmental team travel and managing all student-athlete success initiatives.
 
The Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation will demonstrate emotional intelligence and adaptability to adverse situations; a strong commitment and the ability to enhance student-athlete experiences through positive motivation and applicable support. This role will serve in areas of importance for the Department as directed by the Director of Athletics and will represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of NCAA Compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in athletics administration at the college level is preferred and college coaching experience is also preferred. Must be familiar with NCAA regulations and have demonstrated commitment to the student-athlete experience.

Equipment Utilized: Familiar with Sales Force and Front Rush software

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Available nights and weekends and the ability to perform moderate physical tasks.
