Rowan's Davis, Watson & Coaching Staff, Kean's White, Ramapo's Schappert Nab Major Awards as NJAC Baseball All-Conference Announced

PITMAN, NJ --- Rowan University junior third baseman Brayden Davis (Shamong, NJ/Seneca) and Kean University sophomore pitcher Lucas White (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) were named the NJAC's Bill Dioguardi Player of the Year and the NJAC Pitcher of the Year, respectively, to headline the 2026 NJAC Baseball All-Conference Team.

Additionally, Rowan freshman reliever Nick Watson (Washington Township, NJ/Pitman) was named the Fireman of the Year. Ramapo College freshman shortstop Braden Schappert (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) earned the conference's Rookie of the Year award. Rowan head coach Mike Dickson and his staff were voted the league's Jeff Albies Coaching Staff of the Year.

The honors headline the 36-member NJAC All-Conference Team. Major award and all-conference team selections are determined by a vote of the NJAC's 10 head coaches and are based on regular season conference-only performances.

Davis earned the NJAC's highest individual honor after putting together one of the most productive offensive seasons in the conference. The third baseman led the conference in hits (30) and RBI (32) while ranking second in slugging percentage (.654) and fifth in both OPS (1.063) and runs scored (24), generating an impressive 30 hits — including six doubles, a triple and five home runs. Davis also contributed on the basepaths, going a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts.

White was virtually unhittable in conference action, leading the NJAC with a 0.86 ERA across three starts to claim Pitcher of the Year honors. White ranked second in opposing batting average at just .203, surrendering only two earned runs in 21.0 innings of work while walking just six batters. Notably, all three of his wins came against teams that finished in the top four of the conference standings — Rowan, Montclair State and Ramapo.

Watson was one of the most dependable relief weapons in the conference, earning NJAC Fireman of the Year honors after an outstanding debut campaign. Watson ranked sixth in the NJAC in wins with three while adding a save across eight appearances — all out of the bullpen — posting a 1.38 ERA in 13.0 innings of work. He struck out 12 batters against just five walks, limited opponents to a .188 opposing batting average and posted a tidy 1.08 WHIP.

Schappert made an immediate impact at shortstop, earning NJAC Rookie of the Year recognition after batting .392 with a .447 on-base percentage through 18 starts. Schappert ranked third in the conference in hits with 29 while striking out just three times in 74 at-bats. He also drove in 19 runs and swiped four bases, and defensively handled the demands of the position with reliability, posting a .933 fielding percentage while logging 90 total chances at shortstop.

Dickson and his staff — Jordan Friedman, Chris Rollins, Jason O'Neill and Gary Herron — were named the Jeff Albies Baseball Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Profs to a 15-3 record in NJAC play. They coached seven all-conference honorees, including three First Team selections and major award winners Davis and Watson. Under their leadership, Rowan captured the NJAC regular season title and top seed in the conference tournament.
