PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its football weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 21.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TERRILL YANKSON • William Paterson University
Sophomore • Linebacker • Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro
Yankson earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition after posting a career-high nine tackles, including six solo stops, while adding two tackles for loss totaling 37 yards in William Paterson's loss to Salve Regina. The sophomore linebacker also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble to disrupt the Salve offense. Yankson currently has 11 total tackles including 3.0 tackles for loss totaling 44 yards across the first two games of the 2025 season. He ranks fourth among all NJAC players with 1.5 TFL per game.

Freshman • Defensive Line • Plattsburgh, NY/Beekmantown
Herrera claims NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week recognition after another productive outing for the Spartans' defense. The first-year defensive lineman tallied five tackles (two solo, three assisted) while contributing 1.5 tackles for loss and a half sack in Castleton's battle against a high-powered University of New England offense that ranks 13th nationally in scoring and second in total offense. The 1.5 TFL and half sack were the first of his career.
