PITMAN --- Ramapo hurler Jack Martin was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division III Pitcher of the Week, for his performance last week.
Also the NJAC Pitcher of the Week, Martin threw 12 scoreless innings over a pair of victories. The Annandale, N.J. native struck out 15 in a 3-0 win over Rutgers-Camden, allowing just four hits in his lone start of the week. Martin also logged three shutout innings in relief, fanning four to finish the week with 19 punchouts. Martin did not walk a batter in the 12 innings and was the third different Ramapo pitcher to earn a weekly award from the New Jersey Athletic Conference this season.
Martin is currently 5-1 with a 1.46 ERA and 0.87 WHIP this season. He has struck out 62 while walking just seven over 49.1 innings of work.
