PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Nov. 9.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BAKHI ROGERS-ROBINSON • New Jersey City University
Senior • Guard • Orange, NJ/West Caldwell Tech
Bakhi earned the first NJAC Player of the Week honor of the 2025-26 season after starting the season with a bang. He led the Gothic Knights to a season-opening 81-70 victory over Pratt by exploding for a career-high 39 points. The senior shot 58 percent from the floor and 80 percent from behind the arc while adding four steals on the defensive end in his dominant performance.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW SOLOMON • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Forward • Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan
Solomon claimed the first-ever NJAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honor after grabbing 22 rebounds across two games at Drew this weekend. The senior pulled down 13 boards in a season-opening win over FDU-Florham before pairing nine points and nine rebounds in Sunday's close loss to the host Rangers. Solomon also contributed a block and two steals for the weekend.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MASON THEAR • Montclair State University
Freshman • Guard • Schwenksville, PA/Devon Prep
Thear was named the first NJAC Rookie of the Week of the season after helping Montclair State start the season 2-0. The freshman made an immediate impact in his collegiate debut with a team-high-tying 16 points to go with four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in a 97-63 victory over Dickinson on Saturday. Thear added two rebounds and one steal in Sunday's 75-73 win against Penn State-Harrisburg as the defending NJAC champion Red Hawks opened their season with back-to-back victories.
