EWING, NJ --- TCNJ defeated Stockton 3-0 in their quarterfinal matchup on November 1, 2025, at Lions Stadium to advance to the NJAC Women’s Soccer semifinals.
Maggie Murphy was the standout performer for TCNJ (11-4-5), scoring twice and adding an assist in the victory. Murphy opened the scoring just four minutes into the match, converting a pass from Raquel Garces to give the Lions an early advantage.
TCNJ extended their lead in the 22nd minute when Lexi Caruso found the net with assistance from Murphy, making it 2-0 before halftime. Murphy completed her brace in the 74th minute with an unassisted goal to seal the victory.
The Lions controlled the match throughout, outshooting Stockton (7-6-7) 15-3 overall and holding a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. TCNJ also dominated possession, earning nine corner kicks to Stockton’s zero.
Goalkeeper Ellen Williams had a relatively quiet evening for TCNJ, needing to make just one save to preserve the shutout. Stockton goalkeeper Morgan Keil made four saves.
Murphy led all players with five shots, three of which were on target. The Lions' offensive pressure was relentless, particularly in the first half when they took seven shots compared to none from Stockton.
TCNJ heads to second-seeded Rowan on Tuesday for a 6:00 PM semifinal matchup.
