Kean's Wilson, MSU's Hitchens and Devone Earn First NJAC Women's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors of 2025-26

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 5.
 

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
BRAELYN WILSON • Kean University
Sophomore • Freestyle/Backstroke • Mont Vernon, NH/The Academy for Science and Design
 
Wilson claims NJAC Swimmer of the Week after a record-breaking performance at the College of Staten Island Kick Off Invite. The sophomore shattered seven CSI pool records and set a new Kean school record in the 200 backstroke with a winning time of 2:04.13. Wilson touched first in five individual and relay events, including the 50 free (23.86), 100 back leadoff leg (57.11), and anchored three winning relays: the 200 free relay (1:38.38), 200 medley relay (1:48.97), 400 medley relay (4:00.38), and 400 free relay (3:40.57). Wilson’s 100 and 200 back times are currently the D3-leading times.
 
DIVER OF THE WEEK
AUDREY HITCHENS • Montclair State University
Senior • Diver • Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West
 
Hitchens is named NJAC Diver of the Week following her strong season-opening performance at the College of Staten Island Kick Off Invite. The senior posted a second-place finish with a five-dive total of 142.95 points, showcasing the consistency and form that will be crucial for the Red Hawks throughout the season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Freshman • Freestyle/Backstroke • Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson
 
Devone earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after an impressive collegiate debut at the College of Staten Island Kick Off Invite. The freshman contributed to a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay (1:41.54) and earned an individual silver medal in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.31. She also added a sixth-place showing in the 200 back (2:19.96) and finished eighth in the 50 free (27.02) in her first meet as a Red Hawk. Devone’s time in the 100 back currently ranks 28th in NCAA Division III.
