PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 12.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
RHYLEE CORNELL • Rowan University
Sophomore • Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township
Cornell was selected NJAC Swimmer of the Week after a stellar performance in Rowan's season-opening victory over Stevens. The sophomore dominated the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.49 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.79. She also contributed to the Profs' success in the relays, helping the 200 medley relay team capture victory in 1:53.20. Cornell’s 200 breast time ranks 17
th in NCAA Division III and her 100 breast time is 23
rd nationally.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
PEYTON STAUFFER • Rowan University
Freshman • Dallas, PA/Dallas
Stauffer earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after an impressive collegiate debut in Rowan's season-opening win over Stevens. The freshman claimed first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.69 and added a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle at 2:04.75, making an immediate impact in her first meet as a Prof. Both times are among the top 10 in the NJAC so far this season.
