Ramapo's Leonard, TCNJ's Purnell Earn NJAC Women's Cross Country Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's cross country weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 12.
 

RUNNER OF THE WEEK
DALE LEONARD • Ramapo College
Junior • Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central
 
Leonard was selected NJAC Runner of the Week after an outstanding performance at the Metropolitan Cross Country Championships hosted at Branch Brook Park. The junior posted a personal-best time of 17:41.3 in the 5K to finish fourth overall while leading the Roadrunners to a sixth-place team finish. Leonard excelled against a field of all NCAA Division I competitors.

KRISTA PURNELL • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes
 
Purnell earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after leading TCNJ to a third-place team finish at the Highlander Invitational. The freshman posted the fastest time among all NJAC freshman runners this week with a 19:30.1 in the 5K, showcasing impressive speed and composure in helping the Lions achieve a strong team result in her first collegiate season.
