Week 3 NJAC Football Weekly Honors Announced

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its football weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 22.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TREVOR BOPP • The College of New Jersey
5th Year • Quarterback • Paramus, NJ/Paramus
 
Bopp earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after he shattered his own program record with 553 passing yards in Saturday's 55-52 shootout at Muhlenberg. He completed 27 of 42 passes and tossed five touchdowns. The fifth-year captain averaged 13.2 yards per attempt and 20.5 yards per completion in a virtuous performance, helping the Lions post their second-highest single-game total yardage (688) in program history. Bopp moved into third on TCNJ's all-time passing yards list (4, 669) and has now thrown 35 touchdown passes in his career.
 
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Spiess collects NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his role in No. 22 Salisbury’s rout of No. 8 Johns Hopkins, the second straight ranked win. He helped the Sea Gulls shut out the Blue Jays in the second half in the 41-13 road victory. He tallied six total tackles with his biggest play coming late in the fourth quarter with a scoop and score touchdown from 26 years out after a fumble recovery. Salisbury is now 3-0 heading into the bye week.
 
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ISAAC JEAN-BAPTISTE • Rowan University
Senior • Wide Receiver/Kick Returner • Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East
 
Jean-Baptiste is named NJAC Special Team Player of the Week after the senior was a bright spot in a tough loss to Ursinus. He had seven kickoff returns for 205 yards, averaging nearly 29.3 yards per return, which included a 94-yard touchdown return in the fourth quarter.
 
 
OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
NIGEL JENNINGS • William Paterson University
Freshman • Quarterback • Garfield, NJ/Eastside
 
Jennings is named NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week for the first time after leading William Paterson to its first win of the season in his first career start. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-14 road win at McDaniel over the weekend. He added 48 yards on the ground on 12 rushes.
 
 
DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOSEPH PRESSLEY • William Paterson University
Freshman • Defensive Lineman • Allentown, PA/Pemberton
 
Pressley earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his contribution in William Paterson’s 27-14 win at McDaniel, the Pioneers’ first of the season. He made four tackles, two of which were solo stops. He had two tackles for loss, including a four-yard sack.
