PITMAN, NJ --- Rutgers University-Newark fifth-year senior Timaul Williams (East Orange, NJ/East Orange) has been selected as the NJAC’s Thomas M. Gerrity Most Outstanding Athlete to highlight the 2024 NJAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Team.

Additionally, Rowan University senior Marquise Young (Glendora, NJ/Sterling) was named Outstanding Track Athlete; Rowan freshman Damitrius Hester (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) was named Outstanding Field Athlete; and The College of New Jersey freshman Lucas Lattimer (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) was named Rookie of the Year. Rowan head coach Dustin Dimit and his staff were voted the Bill Fritz Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers.

All-Conference honors were determined by finish at the recent NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship and major awards were voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.

Williams captured three gold medals at the NJAC Championship, winning the shot put, discus, and hammer throws. He set personal records in both the discus and shot, throwing 53.41 meters in discus and 16.07 meters in shot put. His discus throw ranks as the sixth-best in NCAA Division III this season and is also a Rutgers-Newark program record. His shot put throw ranks among the top 25 in D3. Both throws are the best in the Metro Region. He also threw the hammer 52.54 meters to win the event and currently ranks second in the Metro Region.

Young put up a huge national time to win the 110 meter hurdles. He clocked in at 14.01 seconds in the final, which is a personal record and ranks as the second-fastest in D3 this season. He also took home silver in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.58 seconds. He is currently tied for the fastest time in the Metro Region and tied for 13th nationally with Rowan teammate Nicholas Razze.

Hester picked up the Outstanding Field Athlete honor after winning the javelin in his rookie season. He threw 60.63 meters to win the event by nearly two meters. He currently owns the fourth-best throw in D3 this season and the best in the Metro Region.

Lattimer put together a strong performance in his first collegiate NJAC championship as well, winning the 800 meters and helping TCNJ’s 4x400 relay to fourth place. He set a new personal record with a winning time oof 1:55.23, which is currently the eighth-fastest in the Metro Region. He also split 49.67 seconds as the anchor on the 4x400 quartet that finished in 3:24.87.

Rowan head coach Dustin Dimit and his staff including Eric DuBois, Ryan Gebhardt, Milton Goode, Liz Madden, John Oberg, Norm Tate, Julian Pratt, and Jassina Surles were named the Bill Fritz Coaching Staff of the Year. Dimit is part of the top coaching honor for the ninth consecutive season as he guided Rowan to its ninth straight outdoor title. The 2024 Profs dominated with 14 event wins, 11 second-place finishes, and seven third-place finishes en route to 368 points, winning by a whopping 222-point margin and including five podium sweeps.
