PITMAN, NJ --- All-American Kinsey Brooks from Mary Washington has been named the NJAC Swimmer of the Year to headline this year’s slate of women’s swimming and diving all-conference honorees.
 
TCNJ’s Beth Evaldi was tabbed NJAC Diver of the Year and Rowan’s Kaitlyn Crouthamel was selected as the NJAC Rookie of the Year. UMW’s Justin Anderson and his staff along with Salisbury’s Nate Parsley and his staff were voted as the NJAC Co-Coaching Staffs of the Year.
 
All major awards were selected by a vote of the conference’s 10 head coaches and take into account the body of work for the entire 2023-24 season. The all-conference teams were determined by place finish at this year’s inaugural NJAC Swimming & Diving Championship meet.
 
Brooks earned All-America status in three individual events at the NCAA Championships, including First Team All-America honors in the 200 individual medley via a seventh place finish. She collected Second Team honors in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, placing 12th in both events at nationals. Brooks earlier made a huge splash at the NJAC Championship meet, collecting six total medals – five of those gold – to lead the Eagles to a team win at the first-ever conference meet. She posted six individual NCAA ‘B’ cuts and helped three UMW relays to ‘B’ cuts at the conference championship.
 
Evaldi posted the highest combined score at the NJAC Championship meet while collecting a gold and silver medal. She won the 3-meter board with 391.05 points and earned silver on the 1-meter board with 379.20 points. Evaldi was also among the top divers at the NCAA Diving Regional, placing eighth on the 1-meter board and 12th on the 3-meter board. She was a six-time NJAC Diver of the Week through the course of the season.
 
Crouthamel, a Week 12 NJAC Rookie of the Week, was the only rookie to win individual gold at the NJAC Championship meet. She won the 400 individual medley by nearly two seconds, and also competed in the A-finals in the 200 individual medley and 200 breaststroke. She finished just off the podium in the 200 IM, placing fourth, while adding a seventh place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Crouthamel was also part of Rowan’s fifth-place 400 medley relay team.
 
Mary Washington head coach Justin Anderson along with assistants Grace Gartman and Ryan Sullivan earned Co-Coaching Staff of the Year honors after guiding the Eagles to team victory at the inaugural NJAC Championship meet. The team collected 1,204 points over the three and a half day meet to win by nearly 200 points. Anderson and his staff also had six athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, with Brooks earning All-America honors in three events.
 
Salisbury head coach Nate Parsley along with assistants Keaton Burke, Chase McClure, Jill Stephenson, and Austin Thielke were also named Co-Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers. They led Salisbury to a 9-2 dual meet record, setting a new program record for wins. The Sea Gulls placed second overall at the NJAC Championship, a five-place improvement over their finish at the Met Championships a year prior with most of the same teams. They also had eight medalists at the NJAC meet and were named one of the most improved programs in NCAA Division III over the last year by a national swimming media organization.
