Ramapo's Mercado, TCNJ's Fabbricatore Earn NJAC Men's Cross Country Weekly Honors

PITMAN, NJ --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's cross country weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 9.


RUNNER OF THE WEEK
JASON MERCADO • Ramapo College
Junior • Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson

Mercado earns his second NJAC Runner of the Week honor in the last three weeks after a strong performance at the DeSales Invitational over the weekend. He was the top NJAC finisher at the meet, clocking a 26:29 on the 8K course and crossing the finish line 15th overall out of 251 runners in the race. He led Ramapo to ninth place in the team standings.

ROMAN FABBRICATORE • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Iselin, NJ/John F. Kennedy

Fabbricatore earns his first and TCNJ’s third NJAC Rookie of the Week honor for his performance at the DeSales Invitational. He was the top NJAC rookie at the meet, clocking a 27:29 on the 8K course to finish 39th overall out of 251 runners. He was the second Lion to cross the finish line and helped TCNJ to eighth place in the team standings, edging conference foe Ramapo by one point.
